These collages are made of vintage materials such as envelopes and book pages, acrylic paint and ink on wood panels. The process involves repeated painting and sanding with layers appearing and disappearing until the piece is resolved.
These collages are made of paper, sometimes ephemera, sometimes detritus from my workspace, sometimes my own discarded artwork, on wood panels. They are sanded and painted with acrylic gouache.
These pieces are made with tiles of paper that are dyed with tea or painted with watercolor. The juxtapositions of paper become a sort of skin, like the jeweled hide of a lizard or a snake. Most of this work was created with detritus from another project. I always save the pieces that I cut out.
