Books

These handmade and altered books are created using a range of materials—ink, paint, paper and cardboard of all kinds, tea dye, kakishibu, eco-dyes, wire, and string—and processes such as burning, sewing, cutting, and sanding. Some pages hold fragments of my poetry or photographs. With a minimum of words, I’m exploring the essence of what a book can be—its form, feel, and subtle power to hold and withhold.
